- Collect your hire car on Day 2 after exploring Bryggen on foot. Parking in central Bergen is expensive and mostly underground. Book the Nærøyfjord cruise well ahead in July and August. Tickets sell out days in advance online. Arrive at Flydalsjuvet and Dalsnibba before 9 am to beat the cruise-ship coaches. Both viewpoints become very crowded by mid-morning. Book the Loen Skylift online before arrival to avoid long queues in peak season. The cable car runs every 20 minutes. Drive Trollstigen before 9 am to avoid coaches on the narrow hairpins. The Trollstigen Visitor Centre at the top has parking and views of the waterfall. Use the underground car park at Keiser Wilhelms gate and walk. All main highlights are within 15 minutes on foot.
