Arrive before 9am or after 5pm in July and August. Town centre is a 5-min walk from the car park. Park at Viale Einaudi car park (around €2/hr). ZTL covers Rione Monti; park and walk 5 minutes. Evening visits after 7pm are significantly quieter than midday. Follow signs to Piazzale degli Ulivi (free parking, 5 min walk from the gate). ZTL covers the historic centre. Carry water in summer; the hilltop is exposed. Parking near Porta Alfonsina (around €1/hr). Cathedral mosaic floor dates to 1163 and is free to enter.
